Employee Assistance Programme
Solent Stevedores has teamed up with Health Assured to provide an Employee Assistance Programme for all our staff and their immediate families. The employee benefit programme offers proactive help and inteventional support for employees dealing with personal problems that might adversely impact their health, well-being and work performance.
Cycle to Work Scheme
Solent Stevedores supports the Cycle to Work scheme through Salary Extras. The scheme enables employees to purchase cycling equipment tax free via fixed payments to their employer and improve their health and wellbeing by cycling to work and saving money on transport, parking and fuel costs.
Curry's Voucher Scheme
Solent Stevedores are able to purchase vouchers from Currys on behalf of employees for anything up to £2000 which is interest free, however this is to be paid back by the employee over a 24-month period which is deducted from their salary.
Perkbox
A reward app which employees can retrieve vouchers and discount codes for a variety of stores such as ASOS, Apple, Cineworld, Just Eat and much more. There are free perks to be used such as a free cup of coffee from selected coffee stores and there’s even opportunities to win deals on the app too!
FleetEvolution
A salary sacrifice scheme of which employees can lease electric cars. This scheme is available to all employees and works alongside of Solent Stevedores’ commitment to operating responsibly and minimising our environmental footprint.
Jubilee Sailing Trust - Southampton
In 2019, the Jubilee Sailing Trust raised an emergency appeal to avoid closure. Our donation will help ensure the short term survival of the trust that has taken nearly 50,000 people to sea during the last forty years, many of whom have physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities, or faced other challenges in their lives.
Ronald McDonald House - Bristol
RMHB provides free home-from-home accommodation for families of critically ill children staying in Bristol children's hospital. RMHB has helped more than 8000 families have a room where they can stay for as long as they need, which could be days, weeks, months or even years. RMHB's objectives are to look after the whole family practically and emotionally - enabling them to feel some sense of ‘normality’ during one of the most stressful times in their lives.
Mad Giraffe Atlantic Challenge
Scot John Davidson will take on the worlds toughest row in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge in December to raise funds to find a cure for Motor Neurone Disease (MND)
World's Biggest Coffee Morning - Macmillan Cancer Support
The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event where people all over the UK host their own Coffee Mornings and help to raise vital donations to help Macmillan be there for more people living with cancer.
In 2018, Coffeee Mornings raised an incredible £26,914,382.
Palace to Palce Cycle Ride 2019 - The Prince's Trust
29 of us from Solent Stevedores will be taking part in this year's Palace to Palace event, cycling 45 miles between Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle to raise funds for The Prince's Trust.
